Privacy Policy.

A straightforward explanation of what this site uses, why it uses it and how to contact us.

Who we are

Healthy Baseline is run by Adrian Whitcombe with his brother Pete. Adrian is responsible for the personal information handled for this project. For privacy enquiries, contact contact@healthybaseline.com.

Information we use

Reading the public articles does not require an account. Please do not send medical records or sensitive information about yourself or other people.

Why we use it

We use information to respond to enquiries, consider submitted ideas, manage articles and keep the site secure. Our usual lawful basis is legitimate interests in operating a useful, secure publication and responding to people who contact us, balanced against their privacy rights. We may also retain information where necessary to meet a legal obligation.

There is currently no public newsletter signup, advertising tracker or payment checkout added by Healthy Baseline. If we introduce email subscriptions, we will explain the service, obtain the appropriate permission and provide an unsubscribe option. We do not sell personal information or use it to make automated decisions about readers.

Browser storage and external content

The optional habit tracker remembers marked days in this browser using local storage. These marks are not sent to our server; you can reset them on the homepage or remove them through your browser settings. Private editorial tools can also use browser storage for earlier review decisions that the authorised editor chooses to import.

Hosting and sign-in services may use cookies needed for delivery, security and authentication. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google receives technical connection information. Embedded YouTube players load only after you choose to load a video; Google may then receive device and viewing information and use cookies. You can follow the external watch link instead.

Service providers and storage

The site uses ChatGPT Sites and its hosting infrastructure, including Cloudflare. Hosting, security and email providers may process information as part of delivering their services. Information may be processed outside the UK; applicable provider arrangements and privacy information describe the relevant safeguards and controls. See OpenAI, Cloudflare and Google.

We keep correspondence while dealing with it and while reasonably needed for follow-up or legal obligations. Ideas and editorial records are kept while being considered or used to maintain an article, and removed when no longer needed. Provider-managed technical logs and backups follow their retention arrangements. Browser marks remain until you reset them or clear storage. We restrict access to private records, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction or deletion, restrict or object to processing, and request portability where applicable. You can withdraw consent where we rely on it. Contact us using the address above; we may need to confirm your identity. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or your local data-protection authority.

We will update this page when our practices change.
