Principles

As a stoic philosopher once said: “better to master the basics than struggle with the overly complex stuff other people like to conjure up”.

Healthy Baseline Principles:

  1. Correct Breathing: Oxygen is critical; less than three minutes without it, and we’d be in serious trouble. Deep breathing not only keeps us alive but also stimulates our lymph nodes to expel toxins. Yet, most of us spend our days shallow breathing.
  2. Staying Hydrated: Water is essential for our organs to function, and yet, most of us are dehydrated 80% of the time.
  3. Quality Fuel: Good nutrition creates energy, repairs cells, and prevents internal growth of molds and fungus. Despite having plenty of food, many of us are still under-nourished.
  4. Regular Exercise: Fitness is not synonymous with health. Regular exercise supports our circulatory, digestive, lymphatic, and hormonal systems—yet, it’s frequently overlooked.
  5. Strengthening Core: Our muscles, bones, and tendons protect vital organs and joints. Slouching is a common habit that often leads to pain in the shoulders, back, and sciatica.
  6. Rest and Relaxation: Taking time out is crucial to combat stress. Many of us rely on adrenaline or stimulants throughout the day, leaving us exhausted by nightfall.
  7. Minimizing Chemical Intake: The safety of the chemicals in our food and drink is typically assessed in isolation, not in combination, which could affect our central nervous system.
  8. Focus and Productivity: In our information-rich world, simple to-do lists are not enough. Being disorganized and stressed can divert us from focusing on what truly matters.
  9. Vision and Purpose: Living without a clear vision or purpose can lead to a monotonous existence, influenced unduly by the media, potentially causing serious mental health issues.

No need to over think them. Just read, internalise, and do.

Yes of course, add in managing modern day relationships, finances, work, wealth, and whole bunch of other areas, and all of a sudden its hard. But, build a foundation from the principles behind great health and you’ll be in a good place to manage the rest.
