About

Simple Steps to a Better Life

We created Healthy Baseline because too many men we know, including ourselves, were struggling.

Not just with their bodies, but with the weight of modern life: stress, fatigue, dips in energy and motivation, sleepless nights, and a general sense of disconnection. And, let’s be honest, the creeping feeling that we’re no longer spring chickens.

If you’re in your 40s, 50s, or 60s, you might know the feeling too.

So we created this blog as an outlet. A space to explore health – physical, mental, and emotional – without the fads or the complexity. Just the essentials. The basics. The underlying principles that, when looked after, keep us in reasonably good shape.

Better to master the basics than struggle with the overly complex stuff other people like to conjure up.

Health Beyond the Mirror

We’re not here to try and obtain six-packs. That’s not the point.

Health isn’t about a number on the scale or how we look in the mirror. It’s about how our systems are working together:

  • Our nervous system feels calm, not wired
  • Our hormones are balanced, not fried
  • Our muscles and joints support us, not limit us
  • Our brain feels sharp, not foggy
  • Our sleep restores us
  • Our energy comes back when we need it

It’s not about going back to how we were in our 20s (although that would be nice). It’s about moving forward – stronger, clearer, and more in control.

Who We Are

We’re two brothers, now in our fifties.
We’re not doctors. We’re not influencers.

We’ve always had an interest in staying healthy, but we also partied hard (like it was 1999) through our twenties and thirties. We still enjoy a few beers. We’re human.

Now, we’re simply sharing what we’ve learned with men like us, men like you.

Healthy Baseline is built on a simple idea

If you want to thrive, you need a strong foundation – physically, mentally, and emotionally. That means focusing on:

  • Breathing properly
  • Moving regularly
  • Eating with intention
  • Sleeping deeply
  • Managing stress
  • Staying connected
  • Living with purpose

This extends into relationships, finances, work pressure, and meaning — because good health doesn’t live in isolation. It touches everything.

You’re Not Alone

Many men are absorbing and carrying too much.
And we don’t naturally talk about it, we just carry on.

It’s easy to operate below a healthy baseline and not be the best versions of ourselves; however, it only takes a basic mindset shift to get back on track and operate above the baseline. That’s the purpose of the blog articles.
